Soul Circus

A young female boxer recovering from a brain injury will never fight again. Defying advise that it’s too late, she joins the circus and trains to become an acrobat. Ess identifies as genderqueer, also knows as non-binary—‌a catch-all category for gender identities that are not exclusively masculine or feminine.

The grand finale of her story brings us to Paris where Ess is invited to perform at the prestigious Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain ("The World Festival of the Circus of Tomorrow").
